Leapfrog e.V. is an internationally working, non-governmental and non-profit organisation with its seat in Berlin Germany. Leapfrog aims at contributing to close the digital gap between the global South and the global North by technically and financially supporting IT education in the global South with a regional focus on East Africa. Leapfrog draft IT training programmes and support its implementation at non-profit, community based education centers, schools etc. Leapfrog supports young people in IT education to enable them take their lives into their own hands. That’s why the organization was named “Leapfrog” – a children’s game where one child jumps over the other. Leapfrog want to support young people to master the way on their own. In Kenya, Leapfrog has helped more than 250 young people obtain computer literacy. Leapfrog e.V. is member of Berliner Entwicklungspolitischer Ratschlag (BER), the regional network of NGOs in Berlin.
